MY DISCIPLES

Scripture Reading - John 13:34-35

34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. KJV

As Christians we must remember that any person we come in contact with on this earth is in need of that one special fruit found in the one very special person. The special fruit that we all have need of is love and that one very special Person is the Lord Jesus. Someone will say all I really need is God, but I will reply the only way to get to God is through Jesus Christ. If you have Jesus Christ in your life as the Son of God you do actually have God in your life. The Lord Jesus commands us to love one another. We start by loving other Christians and grow into loving all people all over this earth. God’s Love is a lot broader than loving only Christians because God loved us even when we were not Christians. A beautiful thing about Love is that it is not limited to certain answers or actions because God is Love. Sometimes love is just a smile, other times it may be a hug, at times love may be a prayer for God’s help in a troubling situation, or sometimes God’s Love may be a word of encouragement. The Love of God can also guide you on what to do next, in some cases your instruction maybe to withdraw yourself from a certain individual by giving them some space. Love is comprised of compassion, which moves the Child of God to action. When we are led of compassion the Love of the Father will come shining through us. Whatever Love is asking of you when you are engaged with other people please respond to His Prompting in humility and obedience. Doing this will guarantee that all your relationships include the Person of Jesus Christ and the Fruit of His Love. We must always remember, in Christ Jesus, we are totally free to love all people equally as true Children of God. Since the true Children of God shine so bright that they can not be hidden, this forces all men to know and recognize that they are the true Disciples of Jesus. Amen!
